The selection for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts is purely merit-based and does not involve any written examination or interview.

1. 1. System Generated Merit List: The primary selection criterion is the marks/grades obtained by the candidate in the 10th Standard (Secondary School Examination). The merit list is generated automatically by the system based on the marks aggregated to a four-decimal accuracy.

   2. Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case two candidates have the exact same marks in the 10th standard, the preference is given in the following order:

      • Higher Date of Birth (Older candidate preferred).

      • ST Female

      • SC Female

      • OBC Female

      • EWS Female

      • UR Female

      • ST Male

      • SC Male

      • OBC Male

      • EWS Male

      • UR Male

   3. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates from the merit list will be called for document verification at the concerned Divisional Office. Final selection is subject to successful verification of all original documents.
