Before you Start

1. Check Eligibility: Ensure you meet the criteria (Master’s degree with required marks, and age limit for JRF if applicable).

2. Keep Documents Ready: Have scanned copies of the following ready in the specified format and size:

   • Recent Passport-size Photograph (10 KB to 200 KB, JPG/JPEG format)

   • Signature (4 KB to 30 KB, JPG/JPEG format)

   • Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS), if applicable (PDF format, up to 300 KB)

   • PwD Certificate, if applicable.

   • Master’s degree/mark sheets details.

   • A valid personal Email ID and Mobile Number.

Step-by-Step Application Process

Step 1: Online Registration

1. Go to the official NTA UGC NET website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

2. Look for the link related to “UGC NET December 2025 Registration”.

3. Click on “New Registration” and read the instructions carefully.

4. Fill in the required details (Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile Number, Email ID, etc.).

5. Create a password and choose a security question/answer.

6. Submit the details. A system-generated Application Number will be provided. Note this down safely for future logins.

Step 2: Fill the Online Application Form

1. Log in using your system-generated Application Number and the password you created.

2. Fill in the remaining sections of the application form:

   • Personal Details (Father’s/Mother’s name, Category, Nationality, Aadhaar/ID details).

   • Educational Details (Post-graduation status, university name, marks, etc.).

   • Subject Choice for Paper II.

   • Choice of Exam Cities (usually 4 preferences).

Step 3: Upload Scanned Documents

1. Upload the scanned images of your Photograph and Signature as per the specified format and size limits mentioned above.

2. Upload the Category Certificate (if applicable) and PwD Certificate (if applicable).

Step 4: Pay the Application Fee

1. After filling the form and uploading documents, proceed to the fee payment section.

2. The application fee varies based on the category:

   • General/Unreserved: ₹1150

   • General-EWS/OBC-NCL: ₹600

   • SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: ₹325

3. Pay the fee using one of the available online modes: Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

4. Ensure the payment is successful.

Step 5: Download Confirmation Page

1. Once the fee payment is successful, the Confirmation Page will be generated.

2. Download and print a copy of this Confirmation Page for your records. Your application is considered complete only after the successful generation of this page.
